Yikes
I took a few weeks off of playing WoW and I’ve been neglecting this blog. I’ve got a bunch of stuff to post.
I took a few weeks off of playing WoW and I’ve been neglecting this blog. I’ve got a bunch of stuff to post.
Damn, somehow I completely forgot about this blog. Jeez, the last boss kill I posted was us killing Mag…a lot has happened since February of ‘08.
Pwny is still around and kicking.
In BC we cleared up to Lady Vashj, KT and Zul’jin. We downed Rage Winterchill as well. At that point we had lost a bunch of raiders to real life and stopped all 25-man raiding. We broke off and joined another guild for a short period, but things didn’t work out so we left and came back to Pwny.
It was a slow wait for Wrath of the Lich King, a bunch of people lost interest and we were just biding our time.
When the new expansion came out we all busted our butts to get to 80 and for the first time we are actually on the cusp of the new content.
Because Blizz made 10 and 25 man versions of the instances in WotLK the officers made the decision to keep us small and stick to the 10-man raiding. With our current size we don’t have a problem fielding a solid 10-man team 3 times a week.
We cleared Naxx, Maylgos and Sartharian before the latest patch and we are currently working Ulduar. For once we are on the cusp of content, we aren’t playing catch-up with other guilds, lagging an instance or 2 behind. It’s awesome to be seeing the new content when pretty much everyone else is.
Well it does.
If you open Windows Media Player and just minimize load times get decreased in WoW. No lie. It doesn’t work for everyone but the majority of people who have tried it say it works for them.
Wierd = good.
So here we are, another Christmas past and another year almost coming to a close. I’ve been off from work since the 21st and have been playing a bunch of WoW, the last few days trying to get my rogue, Veddy, to Outland and just hit 56. I’m not back to work until Wednesday so I should be through the portal before then.
I did get some phat lewts to upgrade my gaming computer:
Intel Core2Duo E6550 2.33GHz
ASUS P5K
2×1GB Crucial Ballistix DDR2 1066
BFG 8800GT OC 625/1566
750W PCP&C PSU
I’m getting insane framerates now so hopefully Zul’Aman will run a lot smoother.
In the year that I hadn’t been keeping up with this blog Winds of Fury managed to clear through MC, BWL, AQ20 and a few bosses in AQ40. Then the expansion came out and we all leveled our butts off to 70 and cleared Karazhan and Gruul’s Lair.
When Lyssa hit 70 I got burned out on tanking, having MT’d in WoF for almost two years, and decided that once my hunter hit 70 I’d change mains. So I leveled the hell out of Dranow when I wasn’t tanking on Lyssa, got to 70 and keyed for Karazhan. Once there I made the switch and was a lot happier, ending up as one of the top DPSers in the guild.
In August a bunch of us left WoF and started our own guild, My Little Pwny. Our first week as a guild we cleared all of Kara in 4 hours, pretty impressive since we lost a lot of dead weight that was holding WoF back. Now in Pwny we’ve been farming Gruul for a while and are making decent progress in ZA but the holidays are really fuckering us up. Once January comes around we’re going to start recruiting again.
Anyway, so here we are. Our MT has had to go to Iraq for a year, Beck has stepped up as an awesome new MT and it’s time to dust off Lyssa to pick up some tanking duties now that I’m starting to get good gear.
I guess the more things change, the more they stay the same.
So I’ve lately been trying to get Lyssa into Karazhan to get back into the swing of tanking and get some decent gear. Dranow has everything he needs from there anyway, with the exception of one thing that is never going to drop for me…ever.
So anyway, the only drop I had gotten for Lyssa before we left WoF were the bracers off of Maiden, Iron Gauntlets of the Maiden and that’s all I had picked up for close to a year. But, as I said, lately I’ve been taking Lyssa more and more and seem to have hit the jackpot tonight when we killed Nightbane when I picked up a Shield of Impenetrable Darkness and the Panzar’Thar Breastplate. The only other drop I’ve gotten over the last couple months is the Shermanar Great-Ring. I had a Gyro-Balanced Khorium Destroyer crafted a few months back and tonight I had enough heroic badges to replace my crappy, green bracers with Bracers of the Ancient Phalanx.
Yes, tonight was a good night.
It’s been over a year since I last posted to this blog. But in my defense I have been busy playing WoW!
A lot has changed, new main, new guild, all sorts of junk. I’ll post more later.
So about a month ago I was the lucky recipient (and by lucky I mean biggest DKP spender) of a pair of Windseeker bindings. Friday night I did my last transmute and the guild took a class trip out to Silithius to summon a big Rag-like monster and whip his ass. We went, we summoned, we conquered and the result is a shiny new Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker.
A lot has happened since my last post. We have cleared BWL up to Nef and have made some solid attempts against him, getting to phase 2.
So my guild downed Hakkar for the 1st time last night…without me.
Seems by partnering with another guild (or two…it’s a CF right now), we are able to pull 20 people easily…the problem is that it’s not twenty of our guild. After all the time spent in ZG, not spending it sleeping, not spending it with my wife, I miss out. We’ll be there again but it is not the same.
I’m growing sick of my guild too. Too many non-friends in it or people I’m forced to be “friends” with now because they’re in the guild. In game tells about boyfriends, girlfriends, he said, she said, who gets what loot, where do we want to go as a guild, is getting to me.
If it doesn’t get any better a /gquit may be in my future.
